Kent Putnam moved with his family from the Midwest to Sarasota, Florida, when he was ten years old.  He took up photography as a hobby as a young adult and made the switch from film to digital when it was clear what the future held.  His photographs have been selected for many juried shows and have been awarded several prizes.  He concentrates on landscapes but also shoots macros and images of interesting light, shadows, and reflections both in the North Florida area and on his many travels.  He is now exploring the world of infrared photography.  His Photo of the Week posts have been enjoyed by many since 2008.

Kent is retired from a career in the law.  He is an artist member of Tallahassee's Council on Culture and Arts (COCA) and a member of the Artist Guild at Gadsden Arts Center and Museum.  He and his wife Paula live in Tallahassee with their cat Figaro.
